05 Sep SUPERPOWER: My lasting impression on Australian crowds
When I was younger, I was that kid always being silly, making jokes, being disruptive and making people laugh… A skill? A talent? Or masking my insecurity? Living with Tourette Syndrome and ADHD meant I wasn’t expected to be a straight A student or become the next prime minister… instead my childhood was full of fights defending myself from bullies, people staring and confused looks. Back then, in the 90’s, I thought it made me broken. Today as a national professional speaker, I know it gave me my purpose.
Today I stand on stages across Australia, from buzzing school halls to boardrooms filled with business leaders. I share my story with honesty and humour, not to impress anyone, but to show what’s possible when you stop hiding who you are. Every talk has the same goal: to give people something real they can hold onto long after they’ve left the room.
Connection Over Perfection

I’ve never worried about being perfect. People remember real moments, not flawless speeches. A story that makes them pause, a laugh that eases tension, a moment that feels like it’s just for them. Those are the things that stick. When you’re genuine, people notice, and that’s what really matters.
From Struggles to Strengths
Tourette’s and ADHD have shaped how I step into every room. I don’t hide it. I own it. I call it my SUPERPOWER. By being honest about the challenges, I give others permission to see that what feels like a weakness can actually be a strength. When you’re real, people lean in. Vulnerability creates trust, and that trust is what people carry with them long after the talk is over. “Tourette Syndrome” isn’t my ‘superpower’ so to speak. It’s the coping tools and social skills I have learnt from countless somewhat unwanted social interactions. Having Tourettes and ADHD and Failing school taught me? That confidence and believing in yourself is everything. With confidence you can conquer the world! So conquering neurodivergence is no problem when you believe in yourself.
Energy That Sticks

When I step on stage, I want the room to feel alive. It is not just a keynote, it is an experience. The movement, the pace, the buzz in the room turn a talk into something people feel, not just hear. That spark is what makes every event stand out on its own.
Messages That Travel Beyond the Room

For me, the real magic isn’t just in the applause. It is in the quiet moments afterwards, when someone writes to say their student finally found the courage to be themselves, or when a leader tells me their team has a new sense of drive. That is why I do what I do. It is not about a speech on the day, it is about sparking change that keeps growing long after.
What Drives Me
I don’t want to be labelled as a “motivational speaker”. That was never the goal. I set out to inspire Australia that their diagnosis is not their identity. That people are more than a label. That we are all the authors of our own narrative and we have the power to live out any fairy tail for real!

I step on stage to remind every person that no struggle decides their future. If I can turn what once seemed like a weakness into a source of power, so can you.
If my story resonates with you and you’d like me to share it with your students, your team, or your community, I’d be honoured to be part of that journey. You can reach me anytime at seamus@seamusevans.com.
