Three Steps to Uncovering Your SUPERPOWER in 2026

What if the very thing you once saw as a flaw was actually your greatest strength?

What if the challenges, diagnoses, setbacks or insecurities you are carrying into 2026 were not barriers but the beginning of your transformation?

For most of my life, I thought my Tourette Syndrome and ADHD were the reasons I would never succeed. I struggled academically, felt different, was bullied and spent years fighting a brain that did not seem to work like everyone else’s. Yet those same challenges helped me carve out a career in television, radio and now on stages around Australia.

In my SUPERPOWER keynote I show students and adults how to take adversity and turn it into personal power. Today I want to give you a simple three step roadmap to begin uncovering your own superpower in 2026.

These steps changed my life and they can change yours as well.

STEP ONE: Radical Acceptance

This is who I am. This is my starting line.

Most people never unlock their superpower because they spend their life running from themselves. I did it too. I pretended to be someone I am not because I resented my brain. And the more I resisted who I was, the more trapped I became.

Everything changed the day I stopped pretending and said to myself:

“This is me. This is how my brain works. These are my cards. I am going to learn how to play them.”

Acceptance is not giving up. It is taking ownership.

It is standing face to face with your reality and saying:

I will work with this, not against it.

Whether your challenge is neurodiversity, confidence, mental health, family struggles, academic pressure or insecurity, your superpower journey begins the moment you accept who you are right now.

Without acceptance you are fighting a ghost.

With acceptance you gain direction.

STEP TWO: Micro Adjustments

One small shift can change the entire course of your life.

In my keynote I use two metaphors that explain this perfectly.

The Secret Signal Snake Experiment

One action passed through multiple people changes slightly each time until the end result looks completely different.

Small changes repeated consistently can reshape your entire path.

The Comet and NASA

When NASA needs to stop a comet from hitting Earth, they do not blow it up.

They nudge it one degree.

That one degree over thousands of kilometres saves the world.

That is exactly how I learned to redirect my tics.

Not by forcing them to stop but by changing them slightly each time until they became invisible to the camera.

You may not have tics, but you do have something you want to change.

Do you want more confidence
Start with one new sentence each morning.

Do you want better grades
Start with ten minutes of practice each night.

Do you want more clarity
Start with one daily habit like meditating, journaling or a walk.

Big change never begins big.
Your superpower is built from the smallest decisions you repeat over time.

STEP THREE: Rewrite Your Inner Voice

How you speak to yourself determines who you become.

During a difficult chapter in my radio career I spiralled into depression.

Not because of failure but because of the way I spoke to myself.

“You are not good enough.”
“You will not get the job.”
“You are not talented enough.”
“Quit.”

It was the equivalent of speaking to myself like the rotten tomatoes in my keynote experiment.

Negativity destroys growth.

So I changed the dialogue.

Every day I wrote:

I am capable
I am worthy
I am enough
I can learn
I can grow
I will keep going

Your inner voice shapes your identity.
Your identity shapes your behaviour.
Your behaviour shapes your life.

If you want a superpower in 2026 you must rewrite the voice that narrates your story.

The Truth

You are not in control of what happens to you.
But, you are always in control of what you choose to do next.

Adversity is guaranteed.
Life will throw challenges, diagnoses, heartbreak, pressure and setbacks your way.

But your superpower is not found in avoiding adversity.
It is found in how you respond to it.

You are not born with a superpower.
You uncover it.
You build it.
You strengthen it.

By accepting who you are.
By adjusting in small steps.
By speaking to yourself with belief instead of self sabotage.

These are the tools that helped me transform a diagnosis into a national media career.
Imagine what you could build with yours.

**2026 is your year to rise

Your year to shift your mindset
Your year to uncover your SUPERPOWER**
